You may have a lot on your plate at work, but that doesn’t mean you have to carry the stress it causes on your shoulders. Your health is the top priority, and you don’t have to let stress rule your life and diminish its quality. How do you handle stress under work-related pressure?

Studies have found that employees that feel overworked have higher blood pressure than those who did not. High blood pressure is correlated with higher rates of cardiovascular disease, chronically heavy workloads are associated with higher risks for heart health problems.

Employees who reported feeling overworked also reported feelings of psychological and emotional distress and a reduction in their overall levels of well-being. These effects were found to be less severe when employees felt the organization placed a high level of value on their work and gave them a sense of control over their circumstances.
